Vermicelli Processing Plant & Machinery Solutions
Vermicelli is a very fine strand pasta, sold plain or roasted for Indian seviyan and kheer. Flour is sifted and mixed into a dough, extruded through a fine multi-hole die, cut short, dried gently because thin strands break easily, roasted where required, then cooled and packed.
Complete Vermicelli Process Flow
Wheat flour or semolina is screened, freed of tramp metal and conveyed to the dough station.
Flour and water are dosed and mixed to a fine, even dough with no lumps, since a lump will block a fine die hole.
The dough is pressed through a multi-hole die that produces very thin strands, which are cut to short lengths as they emerge.
Thin strands are dried with gentle air movement so they do not shatter or fuse into clumps. Handling is kept gentle through the dryer because thin strands break easily.
For roasted vermicelli the dried strands are heat-treated to develop colour and aroma, then cooled and screened to remove broken fines. Plain vermicelli skips this step and moves straight to packing.
Product is weighed into packs, sealed, coded and weight-checked.
