Tissue Converting Plant & Machinery Solutions

Parent reels are brought from the mill or the reel store to the converting line and loaded onto the unwind stand. Reels are bulky and are moved on lifting and transfer equipment rather than by hand.

The web is unwound, embossed and bonded ply to ply, then rewound for cutting. Loose fibre thrown off at the embossing nip is drawn away at the machine so it does not settle back on the web or on the floor.

Webs and logs are cut to size and folded or interfolded into tissue and napkin stacks. Cutting produces edge trim and fine dust, which is extracted at the knife area and conveyed to collection.

Folded stacks are counted into pack sizes and wrapped in film. Packs are sealed and shrunk where a tight, dust-free wrap is required, and coded for traceability.

Wrapped packs are collated into cartons or cases, then stacked onto pallets. Loaded pallets are wrapped for storage and transport.

Edge trim and reject tissue collected by the extraction network are baled for return to the mill. The extraction and conveying system is run and monitored from a central control panel.
