Sand Washing & Processing Plant Machinery Solutions
Sand processing turns river, pit or crusher-run sand into graded construction and industrial grades. The feed is scalped, washed to remove silt and clay, dewatered and dried, then screened into size fractions, with iron and stone contaminants separated out before storage or bagging.
Complete Process Flow
Raw sand is tipped into a reception hopper and drawn out at a controlled rate. A scalping screen takes out oversize stone and debris before washing.
Sand is agitated with water so that clay, silt and organic matter are lifted away from the grains. Wash water is settled and recirculated rather than run to waste.
Washed sand still holds surface water, which is drained off before the sand goes to the dryer. Drying is needed for sand that will be bagged or used in dry blended products.
Dried sand is separated into size fractions, since plaster, concrete and industrial uses each call for a different grading. Very fine dust is drawn off by air classification.
Magnets take out tramp iron picked up in handling, and density-based separation removes heavy grains and small stone. This step matters most for glass and foundry grades.
Graded sand is held in silos or bins and drawn off for bulk loading or bagging. Bags are closed and stacked for despatch.
