Rice Bran Processing Plant & Machinery Solutions
Rice bran is the outer layer removed when brown rice is polished into white rice. Because it begins to degrade soon after milling, it is stabilised by heat, then sifted, and either bagged as a feed and food ingredient or pressed for rice bran oil, leaving de-oiled cake.
Complete Seed Process Flow
Bran drawn off the whitening and polishing machines is collected and conveyed to the stabilising plant. It is moved in a closed system because the material is fine and airborne.
Husk, bran flakes and small brokens carried over with the bran are separated by air and screen so only bran goes forward. Tramp metal is taken out at the same point.
The bran is heat treated so the enzymes that break down its oil stop acting, which is what allows it to be stored and traded. Heat is supplied indirectly through the extruder or heat exchanger circuit.
Stabilised bran is cooled and dried back down before storage. Moisture is measured on the outfeed.
Where the bran is being processed for oil, it is pressed in an expeller and the crude oil is run to tank, leaving the pressed cake behind. Oil is drummed or tankered out; the cake goes to the feed trade.
Stabilised bran or pressed cake is sifted to grade, weighed into sacks, stitched closed and moved out on conveyor.
