Packed food processing covers the weighing, filling, sealing and secondary packing of finished foods such as snacks, flours, spices, dry mixes and confectionery into retail and bulk packs. The pack protects the product from moisture, air and contamination and carries batch and date information.
Complete Packed Food Process Flow
Finished product is elevated from the process area and held in a buffer hopper above the packing machine. Steady feeding keeps the filling heads supplied without the product being handled roughly.
Each pack is dosed by weight for granular and piece products, or by volume for free-flowing powders. Accurate dosing controls give-away and keeps declared pack contents consistent.
Film is formed into a pouch, filled and sealed, or a premade pouch or pack is filled and closed. Products that need protection from oxidation are gas-flushed before the seal is made.
Batch number, date and pack details are printed on every pack. Packs then pass foreign-body and weight checks, and any that fail are rejected off the line.
Sealed packs are labelled, collated into cartons and cases, then stacked onto pallets. Wrapping holds the load together for storage and transport.
