Millet is fed at a controlled rate over graded screens that separate oversize trash from undersize dust and broken seed. Magnets take out ferrous pieces picked up during threshing and transport.

Small stones and mud balls close in size to millet are separated on a fluidised deck by weight rather than by screen aperture. Light and immature seed is drawn off in the same pass.

Husked millets are passed through hullers that strip the outer husk from the kernel. Husk and bran fines are aspirated away so only whole kernels and brokens carry forward.

Kernels are polished to remove the loose bran layer where a polished grade is required, and unpolished stock bypasses this stage. Graded kernels are then sorted to take out discoloured and defective seed.

Part of the kernel stream is ground into millet flour and sifted into the granulation the buyer asks for. Dust generated during grinding is collected at source.

Whole millet and millet flour are weighed and filled into retail pouches or bulk bags, then coded and inspected.
